Obligatory total eclipse post :)
Aug. 21st, 2017 07:25 amToday is the big day! There's forecasted clouds but most of Missouri's totality path will have at least "fair" conditions to see the eclipse. It's not 100% totality at our house--we're a bit south--so hubby and I are going on a road trip across the backroads until we get to an area of totality, which should be about 2.5 hours or so away (it'd be faster on the interstate but I'm expecting it to be clogged). We have our eclipse glasses (bought on Amazon but from a reputable vendor, so no worries there) and we have a picnic lunch and plenty of munchies and water. Hopefully we'll find a gas station along the way! Not even going to try taking pictures. I want to simply enjoy the event.
If clouds obscure this eclipse, we're fortunate to have a second total eclipse in only 7 years, one whose path of totality will actually be a wee bit closer to home than this one, but hopefully we'll be able to fully experience both.
Wish us luck!
