There's a nip in the air this morning!  It's not that dry, cold and crisp variety that poets wax, um, poetic about, but more of the chilly and damp variety.  But still.  This weather makes me want to fill the house with all the Aromas of Autumn, which include pot roast slow-cooked with potatoes and carrots, and apple pie.  Oh, apple pie, how I love thy aroma!  After debating a bit over whether to cook the roast today or tomorrow (which will also be Chilly and Autumnal), in the end, I had to have it now.  So the pot roast is now cooking in the crockpot, with apple pie aroma to come this afternoon.  Ahhhh.  Breathe deep, folks.  *waves hands to let aromas waft your way*

“... and no, my stew did not make Denlad sick, I care not what he claims!”

Denlad merely glared at Aragorn as he hurried past them and dove into the bushes.  As Eledh chuckled and Galadh frowned at the sounds coming from the brush, Halbarad glanced at Aragorn.  Though Aragorn’s expression was hard to read, he could hazard a fairly safe guess that beneath his very real concern and very feigned outrage, Aragorn was hiding no small amount of embarrassment.  For he knew, just as Halbarad did, that his cooking skills were deplorable. 

It had been the stew, and no mistake.

I have a few ficlets based on Aragorn Angst list prompts ... they haven't been posted anywhere because they're so short, but I had one of those "duh" moments (I get those a lot) and thought, why not post them here.  So here's one of them, featuring Halbarad, Aragorn and an OC Ranger named Denlad, who appears in a lot of my stories (or will whenever I get said stories finished) ...
