Nice shots! I particularly liked the third one - for some strange reason, I thought of Mirkwood when I saw it.. Anyway, looks like Domino's training your reflexes and photography speed! =P
I thought the same thing when I looked at that last one ... those wet, dark tree trunks always look mysterious. Our woods probably resemble Mirkwood more than Rivendell or Lorien, because a terrible ice storm about 3 years ago really wreaked havoc on the trees. Most of the trees lost limbs and many lost their tops and they're only just now starting to fill back in.
Great pity about the trees.. All that harm done in the space of a storm, and more than 3 years needed for the damage to begin healing.. *looks pensive*
It really was awful. We lost about 8 trees that we had to have removed either by my husband or by professionals. And then out in the woods, there are still trees bent and leaning. It was very depressing that first fall afterward, because when the leaves fell, you could see all that damage again. Hopefully it will be better this fall ... we had a very rainy spring and summer that helped the trees fill out again. But it still doesn't look "right" and won't for a very long time.
