Welp. So much for Photobucket.

Photobucket no longer allows 3rd party hosting without having a paid account at the $400 a year level. :/
Um. No. I don't have that kind of cash to lay out for fandom stuff that doesn't involve getting a hug from Sebastian Stan, and I don't really have money for that, either.
So, sadly, all the Aragorn-a-day posts made from photobucket are now just ugly placeholders advertising Photobucket, as are a few miscellaneous other photo posts and my DW journal header (which I was going to change anyway).
I haven't lost the photos... they're still stored on PB plus I have them backed up on a thumb drive. I guess I'll slowly go through my Aragorn-a-days and... delete? I hate losing all the comments, though none of them make sense without the corresponding photo. Thoughts?
Just another reminder that Things Change on the Internet, and often not for the better. :(

*headdesk*
But I would definitely concur with everyone encouraging you not to delete any posts because of it. ;)

Date: 2017-07-15 07:05 pm (UTC)I really would have considered paying $5 or $10 a month, *if* they'd included 3rd party hosting and *if* they'd given everyone advanced notice, and *if* they'd not required the entire year's payment up front. But given how squirrely their website is and how hard it is to navigate, and how atrocious the pop-up ads are... nope. I was only there for the linkage and no reason to stay now, other than I'll likely keep my photos on there just as a backup.
So I'm spending all the odd moments of my weekend downloading all my photos to upload elsewhere. And then I'll have the same thing to do again with dropbox, most likely. Oh well, too hot to do anything outside anyway.
