Date: 2014-02-27 02:38 pm (UTC)I think the whole idea of recognizing that perfection only comes as time spent working goes by is so difficult, no matter what the endeavor. We really need to learn to be easier on ourselves (especially those of us who are perfectionists!)

Date: 2014-03-02 03:14 am (UTC)Definitely! Growing discouraged when I don't show excellence right away when practicing a new skill has really been a fault of mine. (And sometimes it seems like the more I do see myself getting good in certain areas, the harder it is for me to go and work on the areas where I know I'll be back to doing badly for a while - even though I know time and practice will fix that!) Something I'm working on, which I'm sure will be an ongoing process for years to come...
