I'm not doing NaNoWriMo this year, but if you are, here's an interesting little blog article about it from Michael J. Sullivan. "Write the book that you want to read" (instead of chasing after whatever is currently the trend in publishing) is a touchstone for him and he goes into some detail about why that works for him. Sage advice, imho.
