B2MeM Challenge: N41 Botany: Niphredil, Roles and Names of Aragorn: Ranger
Format: Drabble
Genre: Romance (yeah, shocking, I know! Someone check the thermostat in the netherworld...)
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Characters: Aragorn
Pairings: Aragorn/Arwen
Summary: A Bree pasture
Aragorn hurried toward Bree, but at the edge of a pasture, he paused. A mist hovered over daisies blooming thick upon it, and his imagination was caught by a capricious intersect of sun, fog and flower. How like the ephemeral mists of niphredil blooming on Cerin Amroth was that lowly Bree-land field! His mind chased after his heart and he saw then his hand tucking a fair blossom of Lúthien in the hair of his beloved Evenstar, on a midsummer evening so long ago.
He breathed in a long, slow breath, and in his sigh dwelt loneliness and hope intermingled.

Date: 2012-03-13 12:25 am (UTC)It's not that I don't *like* doing these... but the inspiration usually doesn't strike at the right moments, and sometimes what I envision in my head can't, er, be put into words. Ahem.
But I'm glad you enjoyed this one, thank you!
