I'm sad right now.  Davy Jones passed away today.  *sigh*  Gosh, it was just the other day I was talking about The Monkees.

I will forever be a Daydream Believer.

I still love their music... I have their greatest hits on my iPod. They had such a happy, feel-good sound. At least we'll always have their music (and I suppose their silly television show!)

I'm sad too. I'm not such a great fan of The Monkeys and Davy as this childhood friend of mine was, but I liked them, and their music bring back great memories of my teenagehood, especially Daydream Believer.

They were such a big part of my "tween-age" years, thanks to re-runs. I was absolutely hooked on The Monkees, had their albums, sang and danced in my room to their music. Davy wasn't my favorite--my heart will always belong to Mickey--but as an adult I appreciate what a nice man he was, and his talent. He'll be missed.

The Monkees made me laugh and I couldn't wait to sit down and watch the re-runs back in the days. Like you I had a mad crush on Micky Dolenz, but I loved watching Davy dance while he was singing. Still have all their songs and I still know all of them. Sad day.

My friends and I would dance around my bedroom, singing and pretending to be the Monkees, using hairbrushes and wooden spoons as microphones. They were such great fun.
