It took me awhile to figure out what this was from, and then I realized..."Oh. The ultimate *we'rescrewed* moment."

Yeah, nothing like finding out the Ringbearer's been struck with a Morgul blade!

Not his best moment (in the "Houston, we have a problem" sense, that is; although he still looks good in it :-) )

Hmm, maybe it was a Nazgul that messed up Apollo 13's oxygen tanks...

Pity we didn't get the chanting over the hilt at this point, but then, those new to Aragorn might just have thought this guy's nuts!

LOL... they might have; then again, maybe not. I imagine Viggo could have played it so he looked mysterious and wizardly as opposed to plain nuts. :) At least we got the knife melting.

"I imagine Viggo could have played it so he looked mysterious and wizardly as opposed to plain nuts." -- Kind of like that scene in "Hidalgo" when he was in the desert chanting or singing that beautiful Indian song. **sigh** Though he was not wizardly at all...but totally mysterious and mystical like. Very powerful!

You know, the first time I saw that scene, I hated it... but I've since come to appreciate the weird lighting effects and the whole dream-like quality of it. Very mystical indeed!

That scene to me was more of his character finally accepting or embracing his Indian (is that politicaly correct?) heritage as he denied it for so long.

And I thought he sounded great!

As someone who's part Blackfoot and possibly Cherokee as well (the family tree is a little murky on that score), I'm not offended. *g*

And I think you're right... it's definitely an epiphany for him as far as accepting that part of who he is.

Hmmm, I may have to rewatch this movie soon!

He looks good even when distraught.

I would love to have seen the chanting, but then it wouldn't fit movie Aragorn. Jackson did make his Aragorn much less mythical then the book one was. Hence, no chanting.

Or its absence may also have been a simple matter of "we can't show everything or this movie will be twenty-seven hours long"! *g*

I for one wouldn't at all mind a twenty-seven hour long movie. *g*

Especially if it had Aragorn in it!

Exactly. Lots of Aragorn in it. *g*
