If you look real close at the scene you can see the twinkle in his determined eyes.
Yes! This! Every time I watch him walking toward the Uruks and orcs I think, "Man, he's almost smiling, like he's thinking, 'You rats asses have no idea. I'm gonna kick your butts so hard it'll give Saruman hemorrhoids!'" *g* Okay, he wouldn't be that crude, but well, yeah... I love that blood-thirsty little twinkle in his eye. We also see glimpses of it when he's fighting the Nazgul at Weathertop and when he arrives with the Army of the Dead. That little "I've got a secret and you're not gonna like it" glint. *g*
