I think this is one of those scenes where the right side of his face was bruised from being hit in the face with a surf board. The left side still looks pretty good though!

Oh, was this one of those scenes? I've always wondered! I really do need to re-watch all the "extras" on the various DVDs.

I'd heard the story before, how they had to film an entire day only shooting his left side. *g* I always wondered which scenes were involved.
