I'm just guessing, but I imagine they had the camera on one of those dollies--the little portable railroad track thingies? And they probably told Viggo, "You must run *here* in this track and this track only" and then focused on his face to get the shot.
But I'm just totally guessing. I really have no idea! LOL But that's how I'd do it if someone handed me a camera, a camera dolly and Viggo!
