Posted by PJ and tweeted by Sir Ian, with the comment, "THE HOBBIT is being filmed in 3D. Even wizards have to wear the glasses."

Hee! It would be cute if the hobbits came across 3D glasses in Rivendell.

It's good to see Gandalf the Grey again - even with his shades on.

I look at that and expect him to break into a Blues Brothers routine. *g*

It has been good to read Sir Ian's Hobbit blog... The Hobbit isn't my favorite book by any means but I think this will be a dandy movie to see.

LOL Liked that picture, though I'm still not keen on the movie version of The Hobbit.

I think it'll be a good movie, if LOTR is anything to judge by.

I hope you're right. My fear is LOTR is around 900 pages long and a much denser novel and they made three films out of it. They are going to stretch the 300 page, and much lighter Hobbit into two films. I don't have a good feeling about that.

I'm not too concerned about them stretching the lighter Hobbit story into two films, I guess, because though it's a lighter tale than LOTR, they still have a LOT to try to fit in, especially since they'll also be delving into some of the stuff in the appendices. The Hobbit does have quite a bit of plot to it for all that it's not as dense as LOTR--gosh, Gandalf showing up at Bilbo's door and then all the dwarves arriving could take 45 minutes alone and still be paced well. If anything, I fear that they may rush things or leave out portions for fear that the pace will be too slow. My biggest fear is that they'll give the arrival of the company at Beorn's Hall too short shrift in the name of keeping the movie's pace going fast. And of course, I won't mind at all some very long and loving camera shots of Smaug, who I think will probably be one of the most amazing CG apparitions yet to appear on the silver screen.

Gosh, can you tell I'm getting more excited about this film all the time? LOL

I like the fun of this shot... but yes, good to see Gandalf in any guise!
