Hobbit movie update

Variety.com reports Jackson, Walsh & Boyens have signed on for the two Hobbit movies.  The best line in the article is this one:

The sequel deals with the 60-year period between "The Hobbit" and "The Fellowship of the Ring," the first of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

Go, Aragorn!   I hope....

And we all know there is only one character who features heavily in that period. The question then, of course, is who is going to play him!

If Viggo doesn't do it ... and I guess there's always that possibility because of the age consideration, and who knows if Viggo wants to put himself through that kind of a grind these days (although The Road doesn't exactly look like it was a walk in the park) ... I can't imagine who else would. They'd have huge shoes to fill, wouldn't they???
