It soooooooooooooooooo is. I love that scene. It came when I was starting to change my mind about FOTR, and it felt so right it helped me a lot on the way to loving the movie.

Thanks for the link. Nope, I've never heard that one before. Chicago had a no.1 here with 'If you leave me now' in the 70's but I always thought they were a one hit wonder!

Here in the US they were huge... lots of #1 hits in their day, including If You Leave Me Now. They're still around, of course, but they haven't had a hit in a long time (and don't get me started on the sorry state of pop music today).

I feel like a real dufus---I never realized the cloak is blue? I always thought it was black. But there, it does look blue.

It's not the same cloak he's wearing on the quest, though, before he gets his elven cloak, is it?

I've always thought surely it was the lighting making it look so blue in this shot. Look how blue his quiver is, and even his shirt looks a bit purple.

At least if the did show up other than their normal colors, it's a good shade for him! *g*
