And *of course* there's the dwarf for comic relief. Poor Gimli - he's so under-appreciated. Doesn't he feel any fear at all while you get such a strong reaction from Aragorn?
I don't really see Gimli's fearless reaction here as comic relief, but rather dismissive because a) he hasn't seen the vision of the Dead that Aragorn just did; and b) he has no clue he'll soon be treading that path. It's easy, after all, to shrug off a haunted house if you're merely driving by and not expecting to actually go in. :)
Exactly. Especially the movie version, where he needs more than just Legolas' hand on his shoulder. He needs a very large hug and a shoulder to cry on at that moment. *g*
