Venturing forth today for a doctor appointment--my annual visit with my plastic surgeon to check that the breast reconstruction implants are doing okay. Which they are. He'll want to schedule an MRI (to check for any leaking of the silicone implant), but I'm going to see if I can put that off until spring, when hopefully there might be a vaccine or perhaps the pandemic will have eased. I doubt I'd catch it via going to the MRI clinic but... I'm trying to err on the side of caution on everything. I'm kind of kicking myself for not doing it last year. He had it scheduled, but then we realised it was a year too early and cancelled. Oh well. Who knew that 2020 would be so... 2020. I'll be okay with it if he doesn't want to put it off. I suspect that hospitals and clinics are probably about the safest places to be these days because they enforce all the proper protocols.
Some of our movie theaters are re-opening and I'm giving that a big ol' NOPE, as much as I'd love to see a movie and eat movie-theater popcorn. *sigh*
Have to keep it short because I have to get ready for my appointment--which means actually getting dressed and looking presentable. I think I've lived in shorts and shabby t-shirts all summer. LOL

Date: 2020-08-21 01:34 pm (UTC)I'm curious to see what movies will be playing at the theaters, since I doubt many new ones are being released!

Date: 2020-08-22 12:46 pm (UTC)I've seen a few trailers for movies coming out in theaters and none of them look like enough to entice me back except for Top Gun: Maverick. Tom Cruise is an utter weirdo in real life, but he does make fun movies, and that one looks fun just because of all the aviation stuff (I'm not a fan of the whole hyper-testosterone fest of the first one, but... the *flying*.)

Let's face it - quite a few people have gone a bit feral since March...
I do miss going to the cinema, and they have been open for a while here, but no.pe.
Good luck with the appointment!

Date: 2020-08-22 12:52 pm (UTC)It was such a shock! I even wore mascara! LOL It did feel a little nice not to look like a schlub, but as soon as I got back home, I wasted no time getting back into schlub mode. *g*

Date: 2020-08-22 03:12 pm (UTC)and you know what? i don't have legs for short *insert whatever* either. but i started wearing them a few years ago. it took me 40+ years to realize that i can wear whatever i want.
you know, i've once read the definition of sexy. and the definition said - sexy is not the perfect shape of this or that part of the body, but attitude and self-confidence. i thought - that can't be true. my legs certainly can't be sexy.
but they were right, and i was wrong. i know that now.

Date: 2020-08-22 01:15 pm (UTC)You have movies again? I am so jealous! Our mayor recently sniped about them nt being essential or important enough to justify the risk, and I had to fight tears. I know, it's a serious disease and we're all making sacrifices, but I yearn for a full two hours in the dark with a mammoth diet coke. It has been too long!

Date: 2020-08-24 01:10 pm (UTC)I hear you about wanting to go to a movie, just for the whole big screen and wonderful popcorn experience of it. Watching at home just doesn't match, even with a nice chair and TV. :/ Plus, with big-event movies, there's the excitement of being in a crowded theater, reacting to the film... Endgame and Cap finally wielding Mjolnir wouldn't have been the same if we'd only seen it at home, just the three of us. It was the way the audience burst into cheers and screams that made it into A Moment, in the best way that cinema can provide. You have to be in a theater for that kind of feeling. *sigh*

Date: 2020-09-03 01:39 pm (UTC)My youngest ( he's 14 ) was warded for peri-tonsillar abscess back in February just before the whole pandemic and MCO started. He has teenage pimples on his face but for some reasons, his pimples disappeared and his face was baby-smooth the whole week he was in the hospital! Clean air and all that??? :DD Or the antibiotics doing their work on his face as well ...
His pimples are back, btw.
Boomer looked good!
And I hope your dr's visit went well.
