Venturing forth today for a doctor appointment--my annual visit with my plastic surgeon to check that the breast reconstruction implants are doing okay. Which they are. He'll want to schedule an MRI (to check for any leaking of the silicone implant), but I'm going to see if I can put that off until spring, when hopefully there might be a vaccine or perhaps the pandemic will have eased. I doubt I'd catch it via going to the MRI clinic but... I'm trying to err on the side of caution on everything. I'm kind of kicking myself for not doing it last year. He had it scheduled, but then we realised it was a year too early and cancelled. Oh well. Who knew that 2020 would be so... 2020. I'll be okay with it if he doesn't want to put it off. I suspect that hospitals and clinics are probably about the safest places to be these days because they enforce all the proper protocols.

Some of our movie theaters are re-opening and I'm giving that a big ol' NOPE, as much as I'd love to see a movie and eat movie-theater popcorn. *sigh*

Have to keep it short because I have to get ready for my appointment--which means actually getting dressed and looking presentable. I think I've lived in shorts and shabby t-shirts all summer. LOL

Here's one more of Boomer serving Looks for your Friday:

Oh my, that Look would be very hard to ignore. Good luck at your appointment today!

I'm curious to see what movies will be playing at the theaters, since I doubt many new ones are being released!

His looks are sometimes irresistible, but if he starts laying them on too thick, I can just roll my eyes and say, "No, sir." XD

I've seen a few trailers for movies coming out in theaters and none of them look like enough to entice me back except for Top Gun: Maverick. Tom Cruise is an utter weirdo in real life, but he does make fun movies, and that one looks fun just because of all the aviation stuff (I'm not a fan of the whole hyper-testosterone fest of the first one, but... the *flying*.)

The ladies are currently trying to convince me to give them snacks. It's a similar Look.

which means actually getting dressed and looking presentable. I think I've lived in shorts and shabby t-shirts all summer.

Let's face it - quite a few people have gone a bit feral since March...

I do miss going to the cinema, and they have been open for a while here, but no.pe.

Good luck with the appointment!

I have definitely gone feral. I can't remember the last time I even wore any mascara or makeup (before yesterday, that is). XD

It's rather amazing how the animals we think we've domesticated have really just trained *us* to give them free room and board. *g*

I hope the doctor was happy with you.

And that is certainly a Look with a capital L ;)

He seemed pleased. *g* I don't need to see him for another year.

Boomer seems to do most things in capital letters. *g*

The puppy eyes are STRONG with this one. <3

I hope the doctor's appointment went well! I definitely hear you on the shock to the system of those days when you actually have to be presentable, lol.

Boomer definitely got a double dose of Puppy Eye Force when it was parceled amongst his litter. *g*

It was such a shock! I even wore mascara! LOL It did feel a little nice not to look like a schlub, but as soon as I got back home, I wasted no time getting back into schlub mode. *g*

well, the inside of a home *is* a place for shorts (or short skirt) and shabby t-shirt! :)

No short skirts for me, either home or out. I've never had the legs for them, and I don't like the chafing. LOL

uhm... *confused* both shorts and short skirts reveal legs, so what's the difference?

and you know what? i don't have legs for short *insert whatever* either. but i started wearing them a few years ago. it took me 40+ years to realize that i can wear whatever i want.
you know, i've once read the definition of sexy. and the definition said - sexy is not the perfect shape of this or that part of the body, but attitude and self-confidence. i thought - that can't be true. my legs certainly can't be sexy.

but they were right, and i was wrong. i know that now.

With me and short skirts, it's not the leg reveal or trying to look "sexy" (which is... absolutely not something I care one whit about), it's the chafing between my thighs. I've never liked skirts/dresses of any length for that reason, and I hate panty hose and any of the other solutions for it and see no need to mess with any of it when bermuda shorts or jeans/slacks/leggings suit me far more comfortably. I dress my body in ways that's a combination of comfort and making the most of how I look, but none of that is related to feeling inferior about the shape of my legs--they are what they are, and I dress to make them look their best, and to make me the most comfortable.

I need to post more pics of him now and again. He's a bit hard to get a good photo of, though... he's so wiggly and busy I never seem able to get one that has good focus.

Looking back on 2020 so far, I've been to the clinic more times than in the past five years combined. But, like you said, they take the protocols to heart there, and are quite conscious about cleanliness and masks.

I wasn't entirely comfortable, especially in the waiting room, even though all had masks and all were seated 6 feet apart, but I think I was as comfortable being out among people as I could be.

MRI facilities would probably be as sanitary as anywhere, but also jam-packed because of all the people trying to get their medical care in in a lull between Covid waves. Best to wait if you can, but if you can't, I'd be more concerned about stopping by CVS or some such.

You have movies again? I am so jealous! Our mayor recently sniped about them nt being essential or important enough to justify the risk, and I had to fight tears. I know, it's a serious disease and we're all making sacrifices, but I yearn for a full two hours in the dark with a mammoth diet coke. It has been too long!

Yes, I send hubby to the drug store or any other store these days, unless it's one that I know isn't going to be busy and is huge enough that social distancing is pretty easy. But even then, I've generally chosen not to go--I don't have a craving to be in any shops right now anyway, so no sense risking it.

I hear you about wanting to go to a movie, just for the whole big screen and wonderful popcorn experience of it. Watching at home just doesn't match, even with a nice chair and TV. :/ Plus, with big-event movies, there's the excitement of being in a crowded theater, reacting to the film... Endgame and Cap finally wielding Mjolnir wouldn't have been the same if we'd only seen it at home, just the three of us. It was the way the audience burst into cheers and screams that made it into A Moment, in the best way that cinema can provide. You have to be in a theater for that kind of feeling. *sigh*

My youngest ( he's 14 ) was warded for peri-tonsillar abscess back in February just before the whole pandemic and MCO started. He has teenage pimples on his face but for some reasons, his pimples disappeared and his face was baby-smooth the whole week he was in the hospital! Clean air and all that??? :DD Or the antibiotics doing their work on his face as well ...

His pimples are back, btw.

Boomer looked good!

And I hope your dr's visit went well.

I think I would have been asking what cleanser they were using! But it might have been the antibiotics, too. I've heard that sometimes kids with severe acne are sometimes put on a course of the tetracycline-class ones. Maybe that was the same type they used for his abscess. Too bad the pimples came back, but I hope the abscess cleared up completely!

Doctor visit went fine. We were all masked, and he still gave me his usual hug, which was nice but also gave me a moment of "eep." *g*
