These from [livejournal.com profile] imbecamiel... thank you!

First fandom: In terms of the modern interpretation of fandom, where you write fic, do things online, etc, the old firefighter/paramedic show Emergency! I had a WILD crush on Randolph Mantooth's Johnny Gage character (and still do, honestly). I wrote a slew of Johnny Gage h/ccccc fics that are now only accessible via the Wayback Machine (I keep thinking I ought to repost them to ffnet but never have gotten around to it), but back in the late 1990s, there were tons of fanfic archives devoted to E!. I miss that community, tbh.

Songs that get stuck in your head every time? I'm almost afraid to think too hard about this, because I'LL GET A SONG STUCK IN MY HEAD!! XD But seriously, I am the worst at trying to think of a particular song when put on the spot, so I'll just say that I'm more likely to get a snippet of a song, usually commercial jingles, stuck on repeat in my brain. Which, right now, I do not have so I'm not going to press on and risk ruining my morning. *elegantly sidesteps an actual answer XD*

Good topics! I don't know if you want a topic in return, but if you feel like it:

Breakfast
Bioluminosity
Ballet

(I like the alliterative approach XD)

He was so CUTE!! That crooked grin. *sighhhh*

Funny story about me and Randolph Mantooth. When we adopted Dink, it was during a resurgence of the show, thanks to reruns, and Randolph was doing a lot of appearances. A fandom friend of mine met him, was thoughtful enough to bring along a Mother's Day card for him to sign, and so my very first Mother's Day card ever was from Johnny Gage! *g*

Man, seems like Emergency! is one of those older shows that I keep hearing about and I wish it was available on Netflix and such - it'd be fun to give it a watch sometime.

Ahahaha, way to avoid the earworm trap. XD Have you ever read the Mark Twain short story "Punch, Brothers, Punch"? It's hilarious, but also one that Nef's boyfriend's been groaning at our dad for introducing him to, lol.

And oooo, good topics! I've got Thoughts to type up tomorrow.

That show was so GOOD. It's actually credited for inspiring paramedic programs all over the US and sooooo many paramedics and firefighters cite it as their inspiration for becoming that. It was funny, full of brotherly love, NO soap opera romance drama, and did awful doggone well to show accuracy with firefighting and rescue, though of course, there were "added for dramatic effect" type things.

I may have to dig out my VCR tapes and have hubby hook up our old VCR so I can rewatch. *g*

I just read that story... and oh my word, I'm laughing so much at the thought that even back in the 1800s, people were plagued with earworms! *g*
