What a sweet scene.

The whole Brego storyline is about my favorite non-canon addition... it fits Aragorn's character well, and how can you not like a man who rescues a horse who then goes on to repay the favor!

I absolutely agree with you here. I love those scenes too.

Perfect example of in-character, complementary-to-canon plotline. :)

Yes, it's a wonderful scene. I wonder what exactly happened to Brego at the Fords to make him almmost wild. And do you think the horses can understand Rohirric?

I would not be surprised if Brego understands Rohirric--they had a special bond with horses and just as our horses learn words, I would think all the more so theirs. :) And yes, it must have been an awful thing at the Ford, losing his master. That too tells of the bond between horse and Rohirrim, and another reason I love this entire Brego storyline.

As the old timers (waaaay old timers, as in back in the fur trading/mountain man days of the 1820s) say, it shines!

I'm so glad they restored that scene to the EE. It's only one I remember in which they mention Aragorn was raised in Rivendell.

I couldn't agree with you more about the non-cannon bit too.

That's true... they did use the scene to slip that little detail in. Which adds yet another reason to like it. :)
