It really was that bad over the weekend--low temps around 1F/-17C with wind chills around -10F/-23F (not that I actually went out beyond my calm little hollow! The winds whooshed and roared up in the treetops but not down at ground level, thank goodness.)
The weather has moderated now, though, thank goodness, and by Christmas we may be more toward springy temps, which is very odd. I kidded with hubby that instead of the big roast beef dinner I'm planning we may rather go outdoors and throw some steaks on the bar-b!
Hubby's cold is all but gone. Dink's bronchitis is sloooowly improving but she still coughs a lot by evening and into the night. She slept a good chunk of the day yesterday and all night last night, though, so hooray for school holidays and uninterrupted rest.
