Welp, had to put off the reconstruction procedure for a couple weeks in the future because Dink's still sick and now hubby has the same, plus I have a spot of IBS issues going on today. Fortunately my sweet plastic surgeon has sweet people on staff who are very understanding about last-minute cancellations.

Ah, germs. So stupid.

Boo on the germs! But it's good that you were able to cancel, and all of that did not happen after the fact or so. *hugs* Hopefully, all affected will be much better soon, too.

Boo, indeed. Hubby was miserable yesterday, his nose such a constant drip that if he wanted to get anything done he had to stuff both nostrils full of tissue, which makes for a comedic sight. He would have been miserable waiting in the doctor's waiting room. And I know for me, it's always a little embarrassing to have to be out in public when you're in the drippy stage of a cold. Dink survived the day at school and was enough improved that I didn't feel I needed to take her to the doctor (I was on the bubble until that point), so she was able to just take a nap straight after school and I was there to make her a cup of tea and check on her (which I wouldn't have been otherwise).

It ended up good all around that I rescheduled.

I think both Dink and hubby are finally showing signs of improvement. Hubby's voice is about 12 octaves lower than it usually is (and he has one of those super bass voices like Sam Elliott to begin with, so he can rattle the rafters now). Dink is no longer announcing every ten minutes that she's going to die. So yes, things are better. Now to knock on wood I avoid this bug!

On nooooo. That really stinks. I'm so sorry you're are going through that. That's just miserable, and delaying something you'd rather get over just adds to the Not Fun. I hope you're all doing better soon!

I'm a procrastinator at heart so postponing it didn't bother me *too* much, even though it means I'll have to go through the food organizing routine all over again. But I'm just very glad, given that hubby was in the nasty drippy stage of the cold yesterday, that I didn't make him sit for an hour with tissues hanging from each nostril in the doctor's waiting room!

(Just read yesterday's entry) After all that work and preparation, you go down for the count. *sighs* Innit typical? At least it's not the emergency type surgery and you can get a reschedule; next time locking Dink in the closet so she doesn't get sick or bring it home to you (just kidding!!!!!).

Take a day of rest, put your feet up and try to read or nap or something. (((((hugs ya))))))

It's *very* typical, yes. *sigh* Seems like unless it *is* life or death, I end up having to reschedule just about everything because of other family members' crises, but it's all part and parcel of family life and being a mom, I guess. (I'm very tempted to put Dink in a hazmat suit to keep her away from future germs!!)

I ended up taking it very easy yesterday, which helped calm the intestinal issues (which I think were a mild virus, to be honest... IBS doesn't usually present like that, at least for me). I drank a lot, ate graham crackers, put my feet up and drifted through tumblr and did some word scribbling on my WIP. So not the worst day ever, really.

Thank you... I think they're both over the worst of it. Now to cross fingers, knock on wood, suck on Zicam lozenges and pray I don't come down with it! (So far no signs.)

I think they're both over the hump. *fingers crossed* Hubby's voice is 12 octaves lower than his bass which is always fun to hear, but he's no longer imitating a leaking faucet. And Dink is no longer moaning and groaning and texting me every ten minutes that she's about to die (yes, she was texting me from the couch as I sat in the chair right next to her).
