To those in the US, may your Memorial Day bring both comfort as you honor those who have gone on, and joy as we kick off the summer (what a contrast, but I've always thought that's how life is... sadness mixed with happiness and all the range of emotions in between).

It is weird to think that it's "officially" summer now! And the weather is sure reflecting it, it's pretty hot here today!

We were muggy all weekend... it got a little too warm on Saturday but I can't say we were actually full-on hot yet. Too many clouds and too much drizzle and rain for that, I guess.

I would dearly love to send some of out clear skies and a bit of dry summer east of here; midwest and eastern states are getting slammed. Just no fair! I'd take that rain I would, Mr. Frodo!

Texas is really getting bombarded right now. I always feel so much for people in that situation. I've come close a few times in life to losing my home to flooding. It's such a horrible feeling, the implacable nature of flooding disaster. Worse even than tornadoes, at least for me. With tornadoes you usually have a pretty good chance of it *not* hitting your house (even if it's heading straight for you, there's always a chance it will hop over your house). Not so with floods when you live along a major body of water. :(
