This is such terrible news, again ... after Bowie and now Snape!!
I'm glad that they're having a bit of silence prior... privacy to cope with cancer.. but oh dear me, the SHOCK!!! Another great silent hole... its AWFUL.
Thank goodness tho, for us left behind, we do have their living images to love. (tho it must be horrible disconcerting to those who were with them in RL... to find a dead husband/lover/child still alive and rollicking around a screen!)
Oh poor Alan.. dear Alan. A clever clever subtle but apparently most cackly mad friend actor.
There are roles of his that will always be iconic: Snape, Col. Brandon, Sheriff of Nottingham. You always knew he'd bring something amazing to the screen. *sighs with you*
I have informed the other denizens that we will be watching Sense and Sensibility this evening: if DS does not like it, he will be welcome to mooch supper elsewhere.
Emma Thompson's "He always saw everything so clearly -- and never spared me the view" is a lovely thing, and can be read all sorts of ways.
I need to re-watch that... it's been several years. I don't own the DVD but I imagine there'll be streaming it or airing it on one of the cable/satellite channels soon.
One of many this past year to succumb to the deadly C. Cannot imagine what people (medicos) are thinking NOT to work toward a viable cancer treatment aside from killing patients with poisons.
We've lost actors, Tolkien Society members, musicians and politcal folks all to this monster this past year (2015-today) and I doubt me it will stop soon. But WHAT A WASTE!!!
