Oh golly, the pre-Christmas time crunch is about to commence, though I think I'm in pretty good shape overall. I have my shopping done (yay!) and all that's left is a wee bit more decorating and cleaning the house, plus getting in groceries. Christmas is still a week away but the meteorologists are starting to whisper that there's a chance of "significant" weather Christmas night, which really won't be a problem because by then my sister will be here, of course. She's the only one coming and plans on arriving Christmas Eve afternoon. So let it snow all it wants after that! :) Online time more than anything will be the thing that gets crunched most. Hubby's been out of town all week but should be home this evening or tomorrow morning, and he'll be on vacation for the next two weeks. We plan on really hitting all of my parents' belongings, getting them sorted and cleared out, then getting a start on redecorating their apartment into something that's "ours" again. I want to leave enough of their decor to honor their lives and time with us, but not so much that it feels like some sort of maudlin memorial, if that makes sense. To that end, we'll paint and rearrange furniture and repurpose the rooms and make it more of a guest suite/rec room sort of thing.

Adjusting to the fact that it's all now "my" stuff has been very... weird? I'll go downstairs to "their" kitchen to get a pitcher or a bowl or whatever and have to remind myself that it's now "my" stuff. But I still have this odd niggle that I need to ask to borrow it before I take it. LOL

It's just all very odd, I must say. Getting it all cleared up will help immensely.

I'll do a fuller explanation when I do the January answers (trying to do so without spoilers), but quick and dirty reason for me: Captain America is a hero in the same vein as Aragorn, really good to the core and self-sacrificing, and Bucky Barnes, his best friend, has a hugely strong protective streak (plus has a very tragic yet ultimately redemptive story arc). There's much to their relationship that reminds me of how I imagine Aragorn & Halbarad.

Any further ramblings best wait until the question meme or I'll have nothing left to say then. LOL

Hooray for getting ready for Christmas! I hope you're able to get all the sorting and rearranging done that you'd like to. Certainly does sound like a good time for it. (And I hope you get plenty of time for just relaxing and unwinding too!)

So far I've cleaned out three cabinets, so that's progress. :) I'm reserving Christmas Eve evening for relaxing and unwinding, starting with dinner at our favorite Japanese steakhouse and ending, I would like to imagine, with coffee by the Christmas tree (too warm for a fire this year) and peaceful Christmas music. But it will probably be more like listening to Dink dancing all over the house while shouting "IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE!!!!!!!!!!!" LOL Either way, it'll be fun.
