Tumblr... sometimes scares me...

No, not because of the often weird and off-putting content over there (heck, that's the Internet, basically) but because sometimes you put together a post because you think your 30 or so followers will enjoy it and then the next thing you know it's been reblogged/liked over 2,000 times and counting. suzll aptly calls it when a post "accidentally goes viral"...

Hee! But it's Chris Evans Captain America laughing! Of course it's gonna go viral. *big grin* It never fails to make me smile just looking at him smile (and it makes me want all kinds of fic about Steve being light-hearted/cracking up over stupid jokes <3).

And thank you for the clickety-clicks. *g* I do think that the post, in addition to just being something that makes you smile, hit at the right time, because Chris did the Ice Bucket Challenge pretty much the next day... so tumblr is about to break under the whole "This is Chris Evans' world and we just live in it" phenomenon.

But yeah... that smile and laugh. So infectious.

Ooo, I haven't been on Tumblr in a bit, so I'd missed that. It is SUCH a fun post. :D There is something about people who're so wholeheartedly enthusiastic and happy about things... (Well, I mean, the fact that it's kinda-sorta Captain America doesn't hurt... *bg*)

Man, isn't it just bizarre, though, what things take off sometimes? I think my most-reblogged post by far is a random one about Steve Irwin. Every time I see yet another reblog/like pop up for it I kinda scratch my head...

I'm kind of surprised there hasn't already been a similar compilation, but though I've seen a LOT of Chris Evans posts, I hadn't seen one that was a bunch of stills of his patented knee-slapping, throwing-back-his-head laughter. (Aaand, it's up over 3100 now...)

I tell you, if I'd known that post would have gone viral, I never would have put the option for people to reply. Only two have so far... Miko's I found easily because I happened to be online when the notification came in, but the other one I had to scroll through about 500 notes to find it... only to discover when I actually looked at the blog that it was my sister. I didn't even know my sister HAD a tumblr account! LOL!! Suzll laughed long and loud at me for that... and I confess, it wasn't one of my finest moments. *facepalm*

Yeah... yay? LOL It's the most anonymous fame one can have... I don't think I've really met a single person over there that I didn't already know via LJ. Well, okay, there was one gal I emailed quite a bit about Bucky Barnes comic canon but that's been about it. I'm still feeling very much an "on the fringes" person in the Marvel fandom. Which probably isn't a bad thing as I don't have much time for being fully active in a second fandom!

I really don't consider myself a BNF at all... nor do I *want* to be. To me, BNF's are the ones that organize stuff and own archives and run communities and mingle with celebs... all of which would make me melt into a quivering blob of toxic social anxiety. LOL The very thought that any of the actors or singers I admire knowing about me makes me break out in hives (although having an occasional twitter-exchange with one is something I can handle, seldom though it's occurred.)

Nope, I'm much happier carving out a quiet niche like I have in the Tolkien fandom. I'll leave the BNF'ing to others. *g*

But having a post go viral is kinda fun, I will say that!
