cairistionaI've been sitting on this one for a while, having come across this artist somewhere on a tumblr post about Bucky Barnes (I'm still not really sure of the connection that the original poster was making between this guy and Bucky Barnes but hey, whatever...)
His name is Shakey Graves (I'm guessing that's a stage name) and he's out of Austin, Texas (of the "Keep Austin Weird" tee-shirt fame) and has completely his own vibe and style, from the one-man band sort of guitar and foot drum made out of a drum head inset in an old suitcase to his tongue-in-cheek 1950s Gene Autry style cowboy outfit. I couldn't even begin to tell you what this song is about, but the music and the bluesy rasp of his singing really rests easy on my ears.
And this is the one that I found on a Winter Soldier tumblr post...
(And that one I swear could have been made in my neighbor's old barn...)
Love finding interesting indie artists!
