:o) I love that he moves so comfortable and "at home" there, which for me always also was a sign that he brings the different people together in his person, somehow.
Aragorn could be excused if he thought he might be coming down with multiple-personality disorder, he had to keep so many versions of himself alive in his head! But you've touched on it well: Rivendell was the home of his heart and to my mind, probably the one place in Middle-earth he could feel truly 'himself' (although I think eventually he felt that way in Gondor as well).
You know, this may be the first time I've ever posted it. Usually I rush past it to get to the Pretteh Eyes when he's talking to Arwen, but this shot says a lot about him, doesn't it.
