Cry 'God for Harry, Cairistiona and Saint George!
Which work of Shakespeare was the original quote from?
It must have known this was my favorite work of Shakespeare. *g*
On a more serious note, I discovered that there's a way in which to help in regards to the missing jetliner. TOMNOD.com is a site that is crowdsourcing the search for the plane. You can go to the site, and after the satellite map of part of the search area loads, search grid by grid for anything that might be the plane or a part of the plane, or a life raft, or an oil slick, or anything that looks unusual. I spent a couple of hours today going over about 300 image sections. I only found three items to tag--they were a cluster of bright white spots that looked brighter than wavecaps but not like a whale or a ship or fishing boat. Mostly I was struck by just how huge the area is. They're now saying the plane may have gone on flying for 4 hours after it disappeared, so the search radius is just enormous (2500 miles). What the people behind TOMNOD are hoping is that with literally millions of people checking the satellite photos, someone might spot something that will help locate the plane. There's some differences of opinion whether such crowdsourcing efforts are worth it, but it does help me feel like perhaps I've helped a little. The site is a little slow and sometimes gets overloaded, but once you get the map image loaded, it's a simple enough thing to tag anything you spot. (There's apparently some sort of algorithm that compiles those tags that are most used and compiles the data for the proper authorities.)
The site occasionally goes down while they upload new maps, so if you can't access it, try again in an hour.

Date: 2014-03-14 10:52 pm (UTC)I saw the news early this a.m. about the expanded search area. It's staggering! And with their communications/tracking purposely turned off, methinks they were air-napped. Gods only know. I keep those poor folks in my thoughts as this was not how they wanted their lives to be.

Date: 2014-03-15 12:46 pm (UTC)That's definitely a quote to inspire you when you're faltering. There's so many lines in that play that stir my blood that I can't pull out just one as a favorite! (It helps a lot that I see soooo much of Henry V in Aragorn. And vice versa. When I read this play, plot bunnies gather in herds...)
That seems to be the consensus of the officials now. What a scary situation that was. I saw on FB that TOMNOD is adjusting the satellite maps accordingly.

Date: 2014-03-15 12:59 pm (UTC)I'm a little surprised you've not heard about it. Here in the US, it's the lead story on all the news channels/shows (followed closely by events in the Ukraine). Here's the latest, though I imagine by the time you read this, some other new development will make this article outdated--it's one of those kinds of situations, with things changing hour by hour (but alas, the news of actually finding the plane seems to stay frustratingly beyond reach).
I hope your laptop cooperates!
That quote gave me a big grin. :D

Date: 2014-03-15 01:27 pm (UTC)I had looked the news up by yesterday after your post, but didn't find it among the recent news; Ukraine is much more in view hereabouts, and also some dramolett with tax fraud by a famous ex-football player. *rolls eyes* But there is a new article just come up, though I haven't read it yet. But it happen soften that some news don't make it to me; we're not having a newspaper and are not watching the news, and I'm not a radio listener either. Usually I pick up everything important from bis and parts here and there, and Siljan usually informs me of anything of importance. The last days he was caught up in job affairs and having appointments with the bank manager to finalize the refinancing or our house construction loans; the first ten years have passend and the current interests are much better. We've been able to get such a good deal that I'm now also having an internet rate for my phone, though I have yet to get it to work. I set it to "not connect when not in reach of home Wifi" or so and have forgotten where to undo that. *g*

Date: 2014-03-16 01:24 am (UTC)I admit that I'm one of these borderline news-obsessed people, at least when it comes to news like this, where it's potentially a hijacking and so many people are involved (and it's in a part of the world near and dear to my heart because I have friends in Asia and of course, my daughter is Chinese). I don't follow politics at all, but I do tend to watch news about disasters, natural or otherwise, because I usually try to find a way to help, even if just by donating to the Red Cross or other charities.
