*g* I would love it even more if they wouldn't do a western, but a LotR spinn-off about the Rangers of the North or so. Who is the first guy? I don't think I know him.

I'd take either, actually. :) And Anson is who I picture as Halbarad, a Ranger of the North movie would be very wonderful. But as I love westerns and Viggo and Anson Mount are among the few who do them well, I'd really love seeing them together in one.

He's one of those "new" actors that nonetheless has knocked around Hollywood since his late teens without ever becoming a huge star, but always doing solid work in whatever project he's been in (kind of like Viggo that way--he was in a lot of clunkers and mediocre stuff before finally becoming an "overnight" success). His currency has been rising of late thanks to "Hell on Wheels", a television series about building the railroads during westward expansion years of US history. I really enjoy the show because it doesn't subvert or sanitize the history of that period, but takes what happened in those years for what it was, good, bad and ugly, and shows how the individual characters respond, grow, change, whatever within that context--some are jerks, some are good, some are in that murky middle. Not always "politically correct" but always compelling. Anyway, that's the show where I discovered him and then I got more curious about him so I follow him on Twitter etc. He's a very intelligent fellow--not quite the Renaissance man that Viggo is but cut from that same sort of "I make my own road" cloth... and who, like, Viggo, has said that acting is a little like being a kid playing--he doesn't take himself horribly seriously just because he's an actor.
Which is another reason I think they'd do great together on a project, whatever it might be.

I agree. I'm not much into westerns, but with the rigth actors...;o) I've seen Hidalgo a couple of weeks ago, it was terrific. (But also painful, for what it's about and such...)
I've never heard about that series but will pay attention to it; with our VoD I've much more access now (even with lots of delay) to international stuff. (Also making me a bit more interested in watching TV; I didn't use to like TV at all because most of it sucked, I'm decidedly more of a film watcher). It sounds very interesting how you describe it.
