I have had a real thing about Celeborn lately. I've always liked him, but there's a chapter in Canafinwe's A Long and Weary Way that just made me melt... what a friend he is to Aragorn!
I appreciate Celeborn too, especially after making him a major character in "Mind to Mind" and needing to really think about him for the first time. There's so much of his story and character that the Professor left for us to imagine and expand on.
Celeborn! CELEBORN! *hugs and luvs you* From my POV these are the best screenshots of yours I've seen so far! *g* Erm. Well, yes. There is a chapter with Celeborn in this story? I'm not reading it yet, I have too many half-read stories in the work already so it's a bit further down on the TBR list currently, but I'm very tempted to read a chapter out of order if it features Celeborn...
It's from just before they depart from Lothlorien in the boats, as he gives Aragorn the knife. It's just a very small scene, but I do like it for showing the concern Celeborn has for Aragorn and the Fellowship.
It could be because, at least among those who are more fans of the movies than books, that his lack of screen time works against him. I hadn't read the books before seeing the films, though I still really felt drawn to him, even as small a part as it was. Then when I read the books, I *really* liked him.
Celeborn! He who not only won Galadriel's heart but Named her thus!
She is such a strong elleth, can you imagine how strong HE must be to win her love and devotion? How strong must be his heart to stay with his grandsons while she sails West?
Oh, did I mention he's one of my fav elfs? No? LOL

I actually have thought about that... that it must be a special Elf-lord indeed to have caught her heart. And compassionate indeed to stay behind to watch over their kin just a little longer. (Which is why I heartily dislike those tales that make it out that she left because their love had grown cold or their marriage was only of convenience/political expediency/etc... those seem to completely negate the idea that sometimes love requires sacrifice. And it wasn't an eternal sacrifice, after all--he knew he'd see her again when the time was right.)
I enjoyed this scene, and was very glad that it was added to the EE. I hated the way they presented Aragorn in the theatrical version, and this scene added some depth to the character.

And there's several chapters in that story with Celeborn, starting with "As Needs Must", if you're wanting to sneak a peak ahead.
