A musical Advent... Day 1
Dec. 1st, 2013 07:36 amAdvent, the period leading up to Christmas, starts today! I love Advent calendars and am enjoying the Jacquie Lawson Edwardian Advent calender that
estelcontar1 gave me as a gift this year, and that gave me an idea that I thought might be fun (or annoying, if you're not a fan of Christmas music... if you're not, feel free to skip!)
I'm going to post a video every day of Christmas music. I love Christmas music of all kinds, can't get enough of it, and along with the old standards, I've found some new versions that probably aren't on the endless loop at the local shopping mall. I hope you enjoy!

Have a very peaceful and lovely Advent time, dear! *hugs*

LOL
Actually, I have a great collection of Gregorian Chant cd's and a handful are Christmas stuff; my favorites are the Daughters of Mary doing traditional Christmas musics and the St. John School out of San Francisco. Xmas Mass etc.
Don't have to be a Christian to appreciate good music.
Just not jingle bells, pleeeeeeease! LOL

I've got some like those (probably not the exact same) coming up eventually. I do like a good Gregorian Chant! But no Jingle Bells. I'm not a fan of that one any more--had to sing it too much to my daughter when she was little, I guess. LOL
Nope. I've always thought that music transcends ideology/culture and can actually be a bridge to appreciation and respect between cultures and beliefs, etc. And I could probably say that better but I'm only three sips into my first cuppa coffee this morning... *_o
