I'm almost kinda glad PJ didn't include Glorfindel, simply because, for me, he's really hit and miss with his Elf casting (mostly miss). So Glorfindel remains my own vision.
As for Arwen... I did like the added romantic moments, and the chase to Rivendell. I probably wouldn't have cast Liv Tyler, though. She's pretty, in a sort of unique way, but my mental picture of Arwen is far more drop-dead gorgeous.
LOL... I didn't have too much trouble with her voice. Mostly just her looks. I always picture Elves as having the really high cheekbones and sort of upward-tilting eyes... just a little more delicate beauty, I guess? I really just can't put my finger on it. I do think Cate Blanchett fit my idea of Galadriel to a T, though. So I think it's mostly the face shape--Liv has that longer, rectangular face shape, without those really prominent or elegant cheekbones. I always picture Elves with more heart-shaped faces, I guess.
