What a wistful, dreamy expression.

It's good cover for, "I have an invisible Army of the Dead that will mow you down in 3...2...1..."

That has to be the coolest thing ever, knowing you've got an invincible army at your back as you gaze calmly at your enemy...

And I always get distracted right about there when Gimli does his "oops" thing and makes Leggy kill someone (probably richly deserved). LOL I think that's probably the funniest humour moment (next to the Helm's Deep body count) between these two.

But, I do love the earnestness in Aragorn's expression. Very calm, very polite, very much the peaceful expression that belies the death and mayhem he is very capable of dishing out.

I love that moment too. *g* That Gimli, such a troublemaker.

Such a good part of this scene... he's just so extremely calm and intense. Had those in the boats any brains at all, it should have given them pause, to put it mildly.

:) I wasn't until my most recent RotK rewatch (a few weeks ago) that I finally figured out that (1) he never sheaths his sword from the beginning of the Paths of the Dead until after the battle of the Pelennor Fields and (2) there's a very good reason why.

I hadn't noticed that, but you're right!

and (2) there's a very good reason why.

Ha! Right you are, again!
