Crazy, crazy week! Meanwhile, we're getting 80+ degrees and high winds (with a side order of brushfires). :(

I don't have any tender annuals out yet, either, though many of the perennials are blooming--some irises, the lilacs, the azalea. They'll likely have blossom damage though the plants themselves will be okay.

There's areas here that have had the first measurable snowfall in May since 1912 or some ridiculous amount of time like that.

Yes, only our perennials are blooming--I figure the iris blooms won't have survived. Mostly I hope our roses will fare okay. The bushes are LOADED with buds.

I haven't had a chance to even put my onion sets out! And of course I've missed the best time to plant lettuce.

I wonder if, given the delay in spring's warmth, you couldn't get away with planting lettuce, even if it is late. Unless we just skip spring altogether, we might have a stretch of cool weather. But there's really no predicting this year. It might jump to 90F next week and stay there until October. :P

It really is. The cats are so dismayed... and I've been glared at by a little indigo bunting bird... and we've had to cancel the memorial picnic-in-the-park we were going to hold for my mother. (Dad joked that the weather is her doing because she hated being the center of attention!)

It just really stinks. *scowls at sleet*

And while you're freezing your arse off, we're waiting for the much needed rain here and at the same time trying to get a tan but not quite cause it's too hot to be in the sun! Us Californians are never satisfied!
