You may have noticed images from Photobucket have disappeared, showing either a link or the broken image symbol. I can't access any of my photos there, so I did some digging and found this on the Help page at Photobucket.  It seems they're working on the problem:

Hello Photobucket users,

We experienced a problem on Sunday September 2nd that caused servers to go down. This is affecting some of you in different ways, and we just wanted to make sure you knew that our engineers are looking into it, and doing their best to get everything back to normal as quick as they can.

Issues affecting users:

  • Unable to login
  • Images missing from the account, or websites they are linked out to
  • 503 error on Photobucket, not allowing you to access your account or a page within your account (upload, edit, download)
  • Pixlr editor not loading properly
  • Gray pages or boxes on your account or the Photobucket website
You may experience any of these issues when accessing your account or the site. I assure you that your content is safe, and everything will be back to normal soon.

Our engineers have been hard at work on this over the past two days. A disk drive needs to be rebuilt, and that may take a bit of time to complete.

I will post another message when more information is available on when this might be resolved.

Thank you!

You're welcome! I hope they get it fixed soon. I don't like thinking about all my Aragorn photos lost in space somewhere.

They're under maintenance today. You can't access the albums but the posted pictures are serving.

So far it's been working for me since Tuesday afternoon. *fingers crossed* there's no more trouble, but I think for the time being I'll post from my LJ scrapbook, just to be sure (and hope those don't inexplicably disappear again! I don't like when both my photo hosting platforms mess up!).

I've managed to open photobucket using my tablet. I'm not sure whether my previous problem was with photobucket or my ipad because it worked fine on my laptop. But I still can't post photos from it to LJ and I'm dying to show you guys something heheh. Will try with the computer later on tonight when I get back home.

That's from the laptop. I still can't do it from the Galaxy Note. Can you do it from your tablet?

My tablet isn't really a full-function one like an iPad (it's a Nook Color rooted so it also functions as a Kindle), but I can access all the normal Internet things just like a computer.

Are you using the Photobucket app on your Galaxy Note or doing it from the website via a web browser like you would with a PC? I've never tried using the Photobucket app.

I did it from the website. I did click the mobile version of it, so I guess that was why I could access the site ( I couldn't at all initially ). Another friend suggested downloading the app as well but I'm wary about downloading anything, I'm still so new ( and stupid! ) with all this!
