Just going to drop this right here....

... in case you haven't seen the first official Captain America: Civil War trailer that Marvel FINALLY released last night on the Jimmy Kimmel show (about the only thing that will make me watch Kimmel--RDJ and Chris Evans as guests) ETA: putting it under a cut for those who don't want spoilers... I'll be sure to do that from now on with any Cap 3 posts:
To say that I'm delighted at the sheer amount of Bucky in this thing is a vast, vast understatement. He runs, he leaps off tall buildings, he runs some more, he looks badass on a motorcycle, he remembers Steve. *happy sigh* And he battles beside Cap in a heartbreaking fight with Iron Man, using the shield--could that be foreshadowing Steve's 'death' and Bucky as the next Captain? Or just more torturing of Sebastian Stan by dangling the shield in front of him like cheese? He's held the shield very prominently in each movie, so I leave you to draw your own conclusions. (Also, will there be, pardon the crudity, a 'dick punch'? In the comics, one of the iconic frames is Bucky fighting Iron Man and socking him right in the yoo-hoo with his metal arm... an image I will also leave to you to draw your own conclusions....)
That somber, somber music. Wow. I don't know how much of that theme will be in the final movie but it fits the tone of the trailer to perfection.
Other cool bits: Black Panther! He looks... scary. And Steve playing the rope in a tug of war between a helicopter and a building, what even. That beats the log-ripping as far as jaw-dropping Rogers-showing-his-strength moments go.
Falcon doing some kick-ass fighting.
So much goodness. And heartache. And brotherly feels. This movie will most likely rip my heart out and stomp it to pieces on so many levels. *sigh*

Date: 2015-11-26 01:27 am (UTC)And it looks like we're neither going to get a "cheating", "Oh, yeah, they found Bucky - cut to SIX MONTHS LATER" nor them chasing him the whole time with no opportunity for awesome-reunited-working-together-stuff. But gaaaaaah. I don't know if I can handle the emotions and the people-taking-sides and the - Yeah. At this point I'm refusing to even think about the possibility of Steve not being Cap anymore, regardless of whether he has a permanent death or not in the near future of MCU. I want Bucky AND Steve. I CAN'T HANDLE ANYTHING LESS.
;_;
Also. Tony. Steve. (Also Bucky probably, but less obviously in this trailer.) I think we need to sit down and have A Talk about how grownups can have more than one "best friend" and you don't have to fight over the position. Literally or figuratively. You do not have to escalate your issues like this.

Date: 2015-11-26 01:55 pm (UTC)I too do NOT want to see Steve die in the MCU. Nope. No. Nope. Chris Evans has to live forever and ALWAYS PLAY STEVE ROGERS. End of discussion. As much as I love Bucky as Cap, I also adore Bucky as Winter Soldier and I always wish in the comics they'd worked together more than they did, so if they could be partners in the MCU, that'd be the optimal thing for me.
It does look like we'll get a nice mix of 'Bucky recovering' and 'Bucky as bad-ass fighter by Cap's side'. Not that I would have minded an entire movie of Bucky recovering...!
that does look awesome!
